BPI signs contract with Harvard Divinity School to scan thousands of slides.

AIA staff member Mike Bevans visits Japan to demonstrate his color correction software at the behest of major imaging companies.

AIA goes to the circus! FSU's Ringling Museum of Art asks AIA to design a self-contained studio to document 17,000+ objects as they are being installed in the new Tibbals Learning Center in Sarasota, Florida. The Center will provide a permanent home for the models and collection of Howard Tibbals. In addition to thousands of documents, posters, broadsides, and other circus memorabilia, the new center houses Howard Tibbals's huge and exact 3/4" scale model of a traveling circus. The model has over 17,000 individual animals, people, performers, car trains, tracks, tents, and spectators. The table holding the model is 3800 square feet; 13 school buses could park on the model table. The circumference of the table is 1.5 football fields.

AIA installs Digitization Lab. complete with automated workflow via OPUS at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

AIA utilizes a most unusual space (a balcony in the multi-story open atrium, in full view of library patrons) to house an AIAXact 305 Book Scanning system for the Rare Books Department at the Free Library of Philadelphia.

Penn State and McGill University Libraries install first AIAXact 4060DV Repro Workstations in their libraries.

The award for the furthest installation of AIA-based BetterLight Repro System and HID lighting, goes to staff member Jerry Skapof for training over the Net and by phone for the National Library of New Zealand.....not an easy task when the trainer is talking on Monday and the trainees are listening on Tuesday.
