Digital Imaging Technology and Equipment for Libraries, Museums,
Laboratories and Field Work

ACADEMIC IMAGING ASSOCIATES
NEEDS ASSESSMENT FORM

What size shoe do you wear? Well maybe that's a personal question, but choosing technology which is not the right fit for your situation can burn funds and cost time. AIA subscribes to the concept of Appropriate Technology put forth by Ecologist Amory Lovens. As he said, "never cut a pat of butter with a chain saw."  You need to choose the right tools with the appropriate amount of power to do your job. This form is intended to help us help you by pointing you in the right direction in terms of equipment and cost and starting a dialog which can lead to alternative ideas and creative solutions.

As with any form, this one will miss nuances. But remember that we have consulted on, designed and installed digital imaging labs and workstations in many institutions, and have been active in digital imaging since 1992,  so we have a substantial experiential database to share.

Your responses are confidential. We will only contact you if you make that request, and we will return our basic recommendations and comments to you within a few days. For those of you who need to meet a 1-48 hour deadline for a grant or budget submittal (never happens) just call or email for immediate response.
