Metis Digital Macro Camera DMC™ 1015/C

A Camera That Sets A Benchmark
As Yet Unmatched By Any Analog Or Digital Solution
38,125 X 31,250 Pixels,
4.1 Gigapixels

One Pass Without Any Interpolation

APPLICATIONS

  • Highest Possible Fine Art Reproduction
  • Archiving Of Oversize Blue Prints And Architectural Drawings With Fine Detail
  • Digitization Of Oversize Maps
  • Digitization Of Large Tapestries And Other Fabrics
  • Digital Capture Of Large Seamless Objects Such As Marble Or Wood Slabs For The Printing Of Veneers, Wall Papers, And Fabrics With Repeating Patterns
  • Ultra High Resolution Files For Image Analysis

The Metis Digital Macro Camera 1015/C (DMC)™ is a system for direct, extremely –high-resolution photography of oversized flat subjects. Each DMC 1015C scan produces an image composed of up to 38,125 x 31,250 pixels and file sizes as large as 3.2 gigapixels (theoretically up to 4.1GB if optics permitted). Each DMC 1015/C creates digital files that contain all the visual information present in the original.

Metis’ digital imaging experience dates to 1975. Based on Metis’ research and experience in optical mechanical systems, the DMC 1015/c takes advantage of two Metis referred to as called "Free And Dynamic Scanning On Two Axis" (X&Y). Free and Dynamic scanning allows for digital acquisition optimized for the subjects shape and size.

Limited only by the resolving power of current lenses, the DMC 1015C can produce a non-interpolated 254 PPI image of a 12m2 surface that results in a 3.3 Gigabyte file containing 100 pixels, 24 bit color, for each square millimeter of the original. Lines just 2/300’s of a millimeter thick, can be seen and reproduced with potential resolution that exceeds 1,000 pixels per square millimeter.

For an Interactive CD and more specifics the DMC 1015/c please contact AIA. Please include your potential application, institutional; affiliation as well as a work phone number.
